LEARNING MORE ABOUT THE COASTAL BEND WATERS

The Coastal Bend Area has some great history, and the ports and bays are no exception! You know Port Aransas has some great fishing, especially sport fishing for trout and redfish. It’s estimated that over 600 species of saltwater fish inhabit the waters in the area. The history and ecology of the area is fascinating, and the Port Aransas Museum is a great place to start learning about it.

The Museum has an upcoming lecture by Greg Smith entitled “The Port of Port Aransas” that will delve into the history of the port and contain some nuggets of wisdom that will benefit anglers who spend time there. The lecture is free to attend. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for a wine and cheese reception at the Museum. At 7:00 p.m., the crowd will move across the walkway to the Community Center for the lecture.
